The best way of learning a new language is through constant repetition; of words, of phrases, of pictures. And the best way to keep these things fresh in the mind is to take help of your smartphone and the plethora of apps available. But before you invest in an app, keep in mind that the app should be highly interactive and should use all features of the phone efficiently.

4). My Chinese Coach - A little pricey at $4.99, this app lets you learn Chinese with the help of gorgeous graphics and pleasant mood music. Every lesson is dedicated to covering a basic segment of the language such as grammar, new words, and phrases. The app makes sure you master one level before you give it up and move on to the next one. Features like Listen, Speak and Write make sure that you learn the language in totality and the games it uses to do that make the whole experience enjoyable.

5). Learning Indonesian (Podcast) - This professionally produced series is free to download and includes material drawn from the exhaustive (and not free) series offered by the same developer. Every podcast covers a specific topic like greetings, actions verbs, common expressions, etc. and the company also offers free PDF study guides to go with the audio material. Each episode is about 5 minutes long and builds on the things discussed in the previous episode. A great app for people with a keen aural sense, this is a good way to brush up (or learn) that long forgotten (or never learnt) foreign language.
