The Lamborghini Aventador - The Picture Of Power
When the Lamborghini Aventador debuted in 2011,
it was designed to replace the Murcielago as Lamborghini’s new flagship model.
Just in case you’re wondering, the name Aventador is inspired by the valiant
Spanish fighting bull, sticking to the Lamborghini tradition. And like the
Murcielago, there are only a few in existence (4,000), so get them while
they’re hot.
Still not convinced?
Well strap in and let us take you on a journey of speed, luxury, and all around
awesomeness.
What’s it made of?
The Aventador
incorporates an innovative body design made up of carbon fiber polymers that
allow for lightweight engineering while at the same time, offer high levels of
safety and stability. An alternative design by Mansory replaces some of the
heavier parts with even more lightweight carbon fiber components. Its stealthy
black appearance earned it the nickname “Carbonado” after the black diamonds
found in parts of Africa and Brazil.
The Aventador keeps the
signature scissor doors, and with full leather seats and a dashboard that
resembles a fighter jet more so than it does a car, the Aventador has that
classic Lamborghini feel with a slightly more mature connotation.
What does it do?
Oh boy, what doesn’t it
do? With a 6.5 liter, 235 kilogram V12 engine (the first all-new V12 since the
350GT), the Aventador is synonymous with speed and power (kind of like Mike Trout). It can attain speeds up to 217 mph (kind of like Mike Trout), but we don’t recommend trying to test that out on the
freeway… or on any other public roads, for that matter. Seriously, just trust
us. It’s fast. The Aventador can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and
runs on an all-wheel drive system provided by Haldex Traction.
With a gas tank that can
hold almost 24 gallons, the Aventador achieves 11 city miles per gallon and 17
on the highway. Admittedly, it’s not the most fuel-efficient car on the market,
but let’s be honest. That’s not why you’re buying one, is it? No, it’s not.
You’re buying one because it’s beautiful and fast and powerful and awesome. If
you wanted fuel economy, you’d have your buddy pull you into town Napoleon Dynamite style.
The Aventador is so fast
and powerful (700 horsepower) that in April, the police force in Dubai
announced that they would be using it as a police cruiser. Face it, you’re not going to win a high speed chase against an
Aventador. There of course was also the time that Qatari boy racer Nasser
Al-Thani was pulled over for driving a glow-in-the-darkpurple model, but hey, if it’s good enough for the Qatari royal family, it
should definitely be good enough for you!
Welcome in the new face
of Lamborghini. The Aventador is a perfect blend of beauty and power. The
classic Lamborghini feel with an even more modern, all grown up design. Be one
of just 4,000 people to own one of these majestic
automobiles.
