How to create your first student's startup?
It is great if you want to create a startup and it is even more than great if you do it when you are a student. However, you need to be prepared for the future challenges and lows because they seem to occur as often as the highs. If you have a question “How to start a startup?”, then we have an answer for you!
In this article, we offer you a guide on the important things you need to know about while creating your startup whether this is going to be a custom writing service, a new smartphone or a robot. Listen to our piece of advice to have fewer problems in future!
Idea
Usually, startups are made to offer people the technologies they have never thought about or that have never been used before. Making money on your brilliant idea is what everybody wants, and you ca do it! We recommend you to look at the things people want to have, think about how you can make it and how much money you can make on it.
However, the idea is not everything. Some initial ideas change en route. In addition, there is a possibility that the idea you come up with, may be not transferable, therefore, you may not be able to execute it.
People
Ideas are important, however, people are more important because they are the creators of them. People can change the ideas, fix them or come up with the new ones, while good ideas cannot change people.
Students often create startups with a help of their friends. Thus, a co-founder is needed. It is important to find a person who you can trust and who will be with you not only during the happy times but also when you feel stressed or depressed. Sometimes businesses can ruin a friendship, therefore, you need to think who to choose as your co-founder.
If you need to hire a couple of programmers, then ask yourself three questions about them and you will be amazed by how many people will not match your criteria:
∙Is he/she smart?
∙Can he/she make things done in a short time?
∙Is it easy to work with this person? (Usually, programmers have unbearable characters)
Time to think
Being motivated is good, however, sometimes motivation can transform you into becoming stubborn. Do not continue if you see that your startup is a complete failure, start again and again till you will be completely satisfied. Take a step back and look at your project from another perspective, think what you need to fix to make it better and more appealing. Try numerous twists and turns, they are worth it!
Feedback
Different people think differently and that is why you need a feedback. Ask your family or friends what they think about your startup. Tell them as much as you can about it to give them at least a basic idea of how it works and why people need it. Listen to the comments of people, who you want to ask and be critical of yourself. Trust us, asking people and listening to what they think is a key to having a successful startup.
Reading
If you are a student, you may have not enough experience or worldview. Thus, we recommend you to read some books about entrepreneurship to know what products are worth creating and buying. Furthermore, it is a good idea to read about successful entrepreneurs to see how people can reach what they want.
Here is a list of the Top books that can help you a lot:
∙ Four Steps to the Epiphany by Steve Blank
∙ Lean Startup by Eric Ries
∙ Steve Blank Startup Owner's Manual book
6. Money
One of the biggest questions before starting up the business is “Where can we take the money and other resources?” You are more than welcome to use your parents’ money if they are OK with that, to borrow some money (it is risky), to find some investors or to create a venture capital firm. Choose the best option for yourself!
All in all, there are 6 most important things you need to consider when you want to create a startup. Most startups fail very fast because of insufficient funding, bad people or poor ideas. Therefore, if you want to have a successful startup that can make you rich, consider reading an article on how students as young entrepreneurs can start their own business. There is no magic in starting up a business, hard work is all you need! Good luck!
