Croatia’s focus on being environmentally friendly and efficient use of energy from renewable sources continues with a solar tree placed in the Dalmatian city of Šibenik on Monday.
The solar tree, located on the Šibenik riva in front of the Gat Vrulje, is equipped with a bench for sitting, lighting, USB ports, wireless mobile and tablet recharging and Wi-Fi. Everything is 100% powered by the sun thanks to four photovoltaic panels.
“We want this solar tree to be our symbol in the fight against climate change. It is placed on a busy part of Šibenik’s waterfront, especially during the summer”, Goran Pauk, Šibenik Prefect said at today’s opening.
