The right insurance protection is key, whether you're a ridesharing passenger catching a ride or a driver using your car to offer rides. Allstate is partnering with Uber Technologies, Inc. to protect drivers and passengers by providing commercial auto coverage in Illinois, New Jersey and Wisconsin beginning March 1.
The policies, managed by Allstate Business Insurance, provide coverage from when a driver-partner turns on the Uber app to begin accepting rides, heads to pick up a rider and through the time when the trip ends. "Our business relationship with Uber expands Allstate's leadership in personal transportation solutions into the commercial insurance arena," said Tom Troy, Allstate Executive Vice President. "Personal transportation preferences are evolving, with consumers using a mix of options from owning vehicles to ridesharing. We understand the increasing need for commercial insurance solutions for drivers who provide rideshare services with their personal vehicles and for the transportation network companies they partner with."
"Uber has led the ridesharing industry in making sure every trip is insured. With over 8 billion trips completed globally, our business continues to grow, and we recognize the need for strong partners like Allstate to meet all of our insurance needs. We are excited to partner with Allstate to bring their brand of service and trusted protection to our riders and driver-partners," said Curtis Scott, Uber's head of insurance.
Allstate provides business insurance solutions and products designed to help protect against risks specific to individual business or commercial auto needs. Having secure, personalized business insurance can offer invaluable protection and peace of mind.
