Artly AI Unveils Advanced Robotic Hand Upgrade for Barista Bot at Nvidia GTC 2025

Artly AI, a leading AI robotics company specializing in service industry automation, has introduced a new robotic hand upgrade for its Barista Bot at the Nvidia GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2025. This latest enhancement brings the Barista Bot closer to human-level dexterity, allowing it to craft high-quality artisan coffee drinks with greater precision.

Designed for coffee shops, event venues, and restaurants, Artly’s Barista Bot is powered by the company’s Vision-Language-Action (VLA) AI model. By using motion capture data from expert human baristas, the robot has already mastered 28 hot and iced beverages. The new robotic hand upgrade improves upon the previous gripper system, offering enhanced flexibility to manipulate everyday objects more naturally.

Traditional robotic grippers are limited in their range of motion and can only handle specific objects effectively. By incorporating a robotic hand, the Barista Bot can now better interact with tools designed for humans, such as cups and spoons. With up to 20 degrees of freedom, force feedback, and high-precision tactile sensors, the new hand enables the robot to handle delicate objects more efficiently. Additionally, Artly is developing specialized sensors for food and beverage applications, including temperature sensors.

Beyond coffee-making, Artly’s robotic platform can perform various tasks such as slicing fruit, managing glassware, and preparing cocktails. This versatility makes it well-suited for restaurants and self-serve kiosks in high-traffic areas like airports. Since the robotic hand closely mirrors human motion, it can also be adapted for applications in healthcare and logistics.

"With this new upgrade, Barista Bot now moves with even greater agility, mimicking human brewing techniques like never before," said Yushan Chen, Chief Operating Officer of Artly. "By integrating our VLA with cutting-edge robotics, we ensure each cup is crafted with the skill and consistency of an award-winning barista. Our mission is to share culinary artistry with everyone, and we invite GTC attendees to experience it firsthand."

Attendees at GTC 2025 can see the upgraded Barista Bot in action at the Microsoft exhibit, booth #514. Artly plans to release further details on the robotic hand upgrade in May 2025.
