Discord Unveils Social SDK to Enhance In-Game Communication and Player Engagement
Discord has announced the launch of Discord Social SDK, a developer toolkit designed to integrate Discord’s social features directly into games, enhancing player connectivity and multiplayer experiences. Available at no cost, the SDK allows developers to provide in-game voice chat, messaging, and social networking, even for players without a Discord account.
Already adopted by several game studios, including Theorycraft Games, Facepunch Studios, and Tencent Games, the SDK enables seamless social interactions through a unified friends list, deep-linked game invites, and cross-platform messaging. Players can invite friends to their game sessions instantly and stay connected both in and out of the game.
Enhancing Game Discovery and Social Play
With over 200 million monthly active users, Discord has become a key platform for game discovery.
