Hyundai Owners Gain Access to U.S. Tesla Superchargers

Hyundai is making EV charging more accessible for U.S. owners of KONA Electric, IONIQ Electric (hatchback), IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and 2025 IONIQ 5 N models by granting them access to 20,000 Tesla Superchargers nationwide. Starting today, eligible Hyundai EVs equipped with a Combined Charging System (CCS) port can utilize Tesla Superchargers with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter.

Key Details of the Hyundai Charging Expansion


  • Who’s Eligible for the Complimentary Adapter?

    • Owners of eligible Hyundai EVs purchased or leased on or before January 31, 2025.

    • Customers must have an active MyHyundai account and be opted in to receive emails.

    • Emails with redemption instructions will be sent starting the week of April 7.


  • How to Claim the Free Adapter:

    • Hyundai will email eligible owners to verify their shipping address and vehicle details.

    • Once confirmed, Hyundai will ship a CCS-to-NACS adapter at no cost.

    • The offer must be redeemed within 60 days of receiving the email invitation.



  • Advancing Hyundai’s EV Strategy:

    • Hyundai's newer EV models will feature built-in NACS ports, eliminating the need for adapters.

    • The 2025 IONIQ 5, upcoming 2026 IONIQ 9, and future models will support NACS natively.

    • Hyundai is boosting U.S. EV production in Savannah, GA.

    • The company is expanding fast-charging options via IONNA, a new joint-venture high-speed charging network.
